Memories are a beautiful thing. Remembering good and bad moments from the past and being able to look back at them, is a blissful feeling. Although, reliving bad memories is not as joyful.
Fortunately, most memories are positive. In that exact way, this assembly, our topic was about memories of physical school. Due to the dreadful pandemic, shops, schools, offices, everything has closed. So, we have had virtual classes for about a couple of months now. It has been fun, but we have not forgotten the happy moments we had in a physical class. No more sitting with friends, no more free periods, no more boards, just the computer.
Online schooling has its benefits and its flaws. Many people might like online school, but there are many that would prefer physical school. Though, we should be happy that we can at least speak to our peers, if not meet them. This assembly we had a poem, a video, a script, and more. Every element of the assembly has been thoroughly thought through and planned by us students. Every single word has a significant meaning for us.
A Lot of effort went into this assembly and we hope that every person who attended enjoyed it. We had a skit where we debate about whether the physical school is a better or virtual school. We had many bumps along the way but finalized that it doesn’t matter where we are, all that matters is that we are making memories and learning. The video proves that the school just isn’t the same without us roaming the grounds and hurrying up staircases for class.
Following this, we had an acrostic poem and a poem. The poem talks about the general feel of creating and hoarding memories. The student’s talk is mainly about how we create memories and how people feel about looking back at memorable moments. The message we tried to convey here is that memories, good or bad, are teachable and can be learned from. Next, we had a wonderful teacher’s talk about self-affirmation and why we should learn to affirm ourselves.
We hope you enjoyed watching this assembly as much as we had put it together. Memories of physical school will remain as a permanent staple in our heads but it takes time to accept new things and we will definitely learn to get used to it.
